Friends of the Bay Lakes have hosted numerous events over the years! Our events are always family friendly and we love seeing families visiting parks and having a great time!

Easter Events

For more than 10 years, Jones Lake has been the home to our Annual Easter Events. These events were a completely free event for families that included: games, music and a Easter Egg Hunt with more than 5,000 eggs that were filled.

Fall Festivals

Fall Festivals hosted by Friends of the Bay Lakes have drawn in hundreds of families over the years with such fun activities such as games, cake walks, concessions, DJ's, Hay Rides, Face painting and so much more!

Our Fall Festivals showcase local agencies such as Wildlife, Forestry, Sheriff's Department, Fire Departments, Public Library, and Tarheel Challenge, just to name a few! Without our local agencies volunteering their time and resources, we would not be able to do these types of events.

Facebook Contests

On our Facebook Page, we hold contests from time to time for chances to win some pretty cool prizes! One of our favorite contests was the Biggest Tree Contest. Contestants had to find the biggest tree they could at either Jones Lake State Park or Singletary Lake State Park, measure it and take a picture to submit!

Our last winner was a young lady named Isabella who found the biggest tree measuring a whopping 131 inches around! She chose a Unicorn themed Kids Camping set as her prize.
